Specialist Anaesthetist
Dr Rafiq Shabiyulla is a specialist anaesthetist with fellowship qualifications from the Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) and the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA). I completed my medical degree at the University of Dundee and undertook my anaesthetic training in Edinburgh and a fellowship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where I collectively gained broad experience across a range of specialties including major trauma, complex abdominal, transplant, and paediatric anaesthesia.
In his practice, he provides comprehensive anaesthetic care from preoperative assessment through to intraoperative management and postoperative pain control. I understand that undergoing surgery can be a stressful experience, and I aim to provide a calm, reassuring presence while ensuring the highest standards of safety and care.
He takes pride in being hardworking, adaptable, and approachable, and values clear communication and strong collaboration with both patients and surgical teams to deliver the best possible outcomes.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys staying active through sport and has a strong interest in reading. Most importantly, he values time with his family and the balance of raising my two young children alongside his professional life.
