Dr Elmo Mariampillai is a specialist anaesthetist who graduated with Honours from Monash University. He completed his anaesthesia training through the Austin and Northern Health systems, followed by fellowship appointments at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Dr Mariampillai was a full-time Staff Specialist at Northern Hospital, where he also served as a Supervisor of Training for many years, contributing to the education and development of junior doctors. He currently works as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) anaesthetist at Northern Health and in private practice.

His clinical interests include paediatric anaesthesia, ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgery, orthopaedics, and plastic surgery. He has a strong commitment to global health, with a passion for teaching and providing aid in developing countries.

His international experience includes work in Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Fiji and Mongolia.
