Dr Anthony Eidan
Dr Anthony Eidan is a Specialist Anaesthetist based in Melbourne with extensive experience in anaesthesia, intensive care and perioperative medicine across Australia and the United Kingdom.
He completed his specialist anaesthesia training in the United Kingdom, including at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, before undertaking further specialist training in Intensive Care Medicine. He subsequently continued his career in Australia, obtaining Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA).
Anthony practises across Melbourne’s public and private hospitals and has broad experience in complex and major surgery, trauma, spine and vascular surgery, as well as the care of patients with significant medical and complex health needs. His intensive care background is an important part of his practice, particularly when caring for patients undergoing major surgery or those at increased risk of complications. He has previously served as Clinical Director of an Intensive Care Unit and as Anaesthesia Trauma Lead at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.
His particular interests include regional anaesthesia, perioperative medicine, complex airway management and anaesthesia for major surgery. He has extensive experience in ultrasound-guided nerve blocks and neuraxial techniques, with a focus on effective pain management and recovery.
Anthony is committed to continuing education, contemporary clinical practice and medical education. In 2026, he completed a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Ultrasound at the University of Melbourne, further developing his expertise in ultrasound-guided procedures and point-of-care assessment. He also contributes to the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists’ assessment of Specialist International Medical Graduates.
He believes good anaesthetic care begins with careful preparation, clear communication and an understanding of each patient’s individual circumstances. His approach is centred on providing thoughtful, individualised care and ensuring patients feel informed and supported throughout their surgical journey.
