Dr Deifuss is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) and participates in the College’s Continuing Professional Development program.

She is actively involved in clinical education and has contributed to simulation-based training, with a focus on difficult airway management—an area essential to patient safety in anaesthesia. She has also completed additional training in clinical ultrasound at the University of Melbourne.

Dr Deifuss completed her medical degree at RWTH Aachen University, one of Germany’s leading universities, and undertook her specialist anaesthesia training at St. Vinzenz Hospital Cologne and in Düsseldorf (Germany), where she gained extensive experience across diverse surgical fields.

Earlier in her career, Dr Deifuss also worked in medical retrieval, managing critically unwell patients in dynamic and high-pressure environments.

Dr Deifuss’ clinical practice spans orthopaedics, urology, gynaecology, general surgery, and endoscopy, alongside adult and paediatric anaesthesia for ENT procedures. She has expertise in regional anaesthesia techniques, supporting improved pain control and enhanced recovery for her patients.

In addition to her work in Australia and Europe, Dr Deifuss has participated in clinical and teaching initiatives in developing countries, supporting both patient care and the training of local healthcare professionals.

When not working, Dr Deifuss enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and keeping fit.
